Real Estate & Business Transactional Attorney

Teresa Klinkner has over 25 years of real estate and corporate legal experience. Licensed to practice in both California and her home state of Kentucky, Teresa has put her extensive legal knowledge to work as an attorney and as a professor teaching at both the LaVerne College of Law in California and the Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville in Kentucky. An AV rated lawyer, Teresa founded her own firm after working for legal aid services and large law firms before joining forces with Baker, Burton & Lundy. A first generation college student, Teresa graduated Cum Laude from Centre College of Kentucky in 1984 with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Government and English, and is a member of honor societies Phi Beta Kappa, Omicron Delta Kappa, and Pi Sigma Alpha. She moved on to Duke Law School before returning home and passing the Kentucky bar in 1987. Like the rest of her fellow attorneys at BB&L, Teresa is an athlete, having spent time as a varsity field hockey player in high school and college. A passionate member of the South Bay local community, she volunteers with local schools and community groups.

Real Estate Expertise

In addition to being an experienced real estate attorney, Teresa is a real estate broker licensed by the California Bureau of Real Estate.  She moved to Los Angeles in 2000, where she practiced law in the areas of commercial real estate and corporate transactions, focusing on municipal and redevelopment law. In additional to legal practice, Teresa served as the managing editor and editor-in-chief of the California Real Property Journal, the flagship publication of the Real Property Law section of the California State Bar, and was appointed to the Real Property Law section executive committee. She volunteered as a reporter for the ABA Real Property Quarterly Review and was a member of the Board of Directors for the Duke Law Alumni Association. She is a frequent presenter and author on real estate law issues, including presenting at the annual Lorman seminars on California easement law and being a co-author of the CEB treatise on Neighbor Disputes: Law and Litigation.
